The Midwest Ska Moment Episode 15 – White Trash by The Skamish
There are moments in our lives that hold personal significance: first love, first kiss, first time driving an automobile, first ska-punk concert. The last of which brings us to today’s Fallen Hero Friday episode, featuring The Skamish from Winona, MN. Seeing 7 teenagers dressed as Amish farmers, playing snotty punk mixed with ska in a sweaty night club is any 15 year old’s dream. I dug up their cassette tape (yes, they had music on tapes back then) to let the people of today hear the band that got me interested in becoming a musician.
Track of the Day: “White Trash” by The Skamish from the album 8 Lousy Songs, 4 Lousy Bucks (no website, because the internet wasn’t around then)
