Ep. 102 – Yeardley Smith
You always remember your first Simpson.
Yeardley Smith was a relatively little known actress before she decided to take a job voicing an 8 year old girl in one-minute animated shorts. Nearly 30 years later, she’s one of the most well known voice actresses on the planet which means she’s somewhere in the top 50,000 most famous actors ever.
Yeardley talks with Evan about starting out working in films like The Legend Of Billie Jean and Maximum Overdrive and how the character of Lisa Simpson has evolved from those shorts to a more well-rounded (and well-loved) character. She also talks about working within the confines of having a distinctive voice and her latest project, Small Town Dicks, the true crime podcast that isn’t funny but you can at least google it at work.
