Girl Germs Episode 5 – The Women Of Disco
This week on Girl Germs we’re showcasing that magical, sparkly genre known as disco. Sure, it gets a bad rap. Tens of thousands of people showed up at Chicago’s Comiskey Park in 1979 to burn crates of disco records. So what? We happen to believe there’s more to disco than just cheesy lyrics and gawdy (OK, sometimes wonderful) outfits.
On this episode, Anna and Dana play some of our favorite female disco artists past and present. From classic American artists like Donna Summer and Diana Ross to Sweden’s ABBA to Italo Disco-influenced music from Chromatics and Sally Shapiro, these are the best of the best.
